The beaches surrounding Westport boast blue flag status and the Greenway allows visitors to take up walking, running, or cycling on a 42 kilometre stretch. Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s holy mountain is only a few kilometres from Westport.

Westport House is situated in a beautiful estate adjacent to the town of Westport. Several of Clew Bay’s islands are a short ferry ride from Westport, where you can explore the roots of the pirate queen, Grace O’ Malley, at Rockfleet Castle and Clare Island. Rural life and cultural exhibits awaits visitors to the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life and the Clew Bay Heritage centre, just half an hour’s drive east of Westport. Knock Shrine attracts pilgrims from all over the world and after a short drive you can step back in time at Burrishoole Abbey.
